Within the framework of the agreement signed in September 2024 between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Next Era company — aimed at hosting international branches of several prestigious American universities in the Arab Republic of Egypt — a high-level official delegation visited several U.S. universities from June 13–16, 2025 to monitor the activation of the agreement’s provisions and discuss implementation steps.

The delegation included:

• Dr. Mohamed El-Sharqawy, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Policies and Economic Affairs

• Prof. Dr. Nermeen Sabry, Egyptian Cultural and Educational Counselor in Washington

• Eng. Mostafa Abdel Latif, CEO of Next Era

• Mr. Amr Abdallah, Director of the Gulf Program at Education For Employment Global (EFE Global)

The tour began with a visit to the Illinois Institute of Technology, where the delegation met with senior university officials:
